Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft landed following standard procedures and all passengers, such as Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This occurrence is not the initial instance that a American defense plane ferrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft transporting the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
