Brian Eno Encourages Backing to Get Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to send a traditional song from Palestine to the top of the UK charts. The effort hopes to provide aid to Gaza's residents while also showcasing Palestinian culture and creativity.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to support Palestinians this festive season. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a thing unto themselves.”

Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Contributing Musicians

The single was laid down in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in September. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians appearing on Lullaby features a range of prominent voices from the industry. All took part in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was brought to life by a team of music creators. The song blends a combination of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the initiative have clarified that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We don’t have a specific target,” a spokesperson said. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was noted for its profound destruction, with a overwhelming percentage of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released on Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from mid-December.
